Calculating the difference between two dates is more complex than it appears at first glance. Different months have different numbers of days (28β31), and February in a leap year has 29 days. Our calculator gives a precise breakdown: total days, weeks, months, years, working days, and a component breakdown (X years, Y months, Z days).
Working days are calculated by counting only Monday through Friday, excluding Saturday and Sunday. For periods up to 2 years, days are counted individually; for longer periods, an approximation is used (5/7 of all days).

Working days are counted as Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded. Public holidays are not automatically excluded, as they vary by country. Subtract the number of public holidays in your country for a more accurate result.
Total months is the approximate count of full months elapsed (total days Γ· 30.44). The months component in the breakdown shows the remaining months after subtracting complete years β part of the 'X years, Y months, Z days' breakdown.

Total days is the exact count of days between the two dates. The breakdown (years, months, days) uses calendar months, which have different lengths (28β31 days). This means the breakdown may not multiply out exactly to total days β both results are correct.
